The story

The installation

Simon's home is a leaner, smartly-sized setup focused squarely on one thing: cutting energy bills. It pairs a Sunsynk 3.6kW inverter with a 16kWh Fogstar battery and 10 Aiko 440W panels, each on a Tigo optimiser.

The strategy is simple and effective. The battery fills up on cheap off-peak electricity overnight, tops up from solar through the day, and powers the home from stored energy when grid prices are at their highest — so very little is ever bought at peak rates.

It's the perfect counterpoint to Matt's larger system: proof that you don't need a huge install to make a real dent in your bills. The live and historic data below shows exactly how it performs, day to day.
