Sutton Solar and Security Limited (trading as Sutton Solar) is the “data controller” for the personal information described here. We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14352398), with our registered office at 26 Maple Road, Sutton Coldfield, B72 1JP. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We only collect what you choose to give us, mainly through our contact form:

• Contact details — your name, email address and/or phone number.
• Property information — your address, the location you pin on the map, and any photos of your property you upload.
• Your enquiry — the goals you select and anything you write in the message.
• Technical data — your IP address and browser information, used only to keep the form secure and prevent abuse.

Sharing your location is entirely optional — it's only used if you tap “use my location” or place a pin to help us plan.

We use your information solely to respond to your enquiry, design and quote for a system, and keep in touch about it. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to and managing enquiries about our services) and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. We do not use your details for marketing without your consent, and we never sell your data.

We don't sell or trade your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers who process it only on our instructions:

• Our email provider, which delivers enquiry notifications to us. This may involve transferring data outside the UK, protected by appropriate safeguards.
• Our hosting, where your enquiry is stored securely.

We may also disclose information where we're legally required to.

We keep enquiry information for as long as it's needed to deal with your enquiry and any work or relationship that follows. We review what we hold periodically and delete it once it's no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see your rights below).

The whole site runs over encrypted HTTPS. Enquiries are stored on an access-controlled server, and the photos you send are only accessible to us. We apply sensible security measures to guard against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

We keep this simple: this website does not use cookies or any advertising or analytics tracking. The interactive map on our contact page loads map imagery and looks up addresses to provide that feature, but we don't use any of it to track you.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• request a copy of your data in a portable format.
